The African Development Bank says it's time to allow Africa to rapidly adapt to the impact of climate change. Climate change severely theatens the continent's food and water supplies. While the continent accounts for no more than 4 percent of total global greenhouse emissions, climate change resulting from total global emissions will cost Africa $50 billion a year. At the COP 21, the 2015 climate talks in Paris, the continent put forth an initiative that would increase the use of alternative energy resources, thus lessening its output of greenhouse emissions.
